Sometimes it’s the ugly that shows us the beauty.

I am currently in a “battle” with a salesman who is trying to sell my bosses a lawfirm website. Well, actually he has already sold the website. Now he is trying to sell more website. He says that more “content” will get better search results. Of course, more content=more money expended by my bosses.

My bosses are great attorneys. They give great legal advice and really know their stuff. Family Law. Real Estate. Small Business. Probate. Estate Planning. And, Civil Litigation. They are great at all those things.

Like most attorneys, they aren’t so great at understanding how to get good results for their firm on the Inernet. That’s where these salesmen with their VERY EXPENSIVE pre-packaged websites come in and really, well, I’d say they personify the SHARK image that is usually conferred on lawyers.

So honestly, this post is very much about manipulating search results, by way of trying to demonstrate to my bosses that there is something else possible. Here, let me drop some names.

Vern Seather

Michael Jacobs
