However, on the other hand

March 9, 2011

So yesterday I was all about how my photographic submissions to Seattle Erotic Art Festival were rejected. What I did not mention at that time was that I still had a proposal sitting on their desk, for an art installation. And today we heard that

I am writing to say that we definitely want you to show your pieces at this year’s festival.

Very cool news.

Well then, a bit about what the installation is to be, so you’ll know what I’m talking about. First, I am working with a partner, Sonia. We call our installation, “Breathe Me”, and from our proposal

BREATHE ME is an installation of hand-crafted and embellished boxes, each containing the materials of a certain erotic olfactory trigger.

I know this is going to be a fun and beautiful project, but now, my partner and I need to figure out how to pull this together in a reasonable, expedient, and creative fashion—given that we live 1,000 miles apart. I have no concerns about can-we-do-it, it’s just a matter of concocting a way to do it. And I plan to be posting about that process, as it emerges and unfolds.
